Sharon Schmidt, LM, CPM
Sharon is a Florida Licensed Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife. She graduated from the 3 year direct-entry midwifery program at the School of Complementary Medicine, near Orlando, Florida.

She and Ray have been married since 1978. They have 4 children;
Christopher (1978), Michael (1980), Rebecca (1984) and Jeffrey (1992). They have home schooled their children since 1992.
Their oldest son, Christopher, married Brooke on March 17, 2001. So far, they only have granddogs and grandcats - Zoe, Darby, Orson, Mallie, Hans, Greta, Chub-chub, Gus-Gus and Cassie.

Sharon became interested in midwifery after the birth of their second child. Their first baby was born in the hospital with many interventions. During her second pregnancy, Sharon started doing a lot of reading and gathering information on childbirth. She and Ray decided to have their baby with a midwife who did out of hospital deliveries. That was a life changing decision for Sharon. It was after that birth that she realized the call on her life. "I wanted to be able to help women the way my midwife helped me. I didn't have to think twice where I would have the
next two babies!", says Sharon.

Over the years Sharon has helped several hundred of women. She has been the childbirth educator, the doula (labor support person), the friend and the midwife. Sharon believes "Birth is a very sacred moment and to be present at a birth is an honor."


Hope Terrell, LM, CPM
Hope is a Florida Licensed Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife. She graduated from the 3 year direct-entry midwifery program at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida.

Hope and her husband Ty have been married since 2001. They have 2 children: Matthew (1991) and Autumn (1995). They are presently homeschooling their children.

Since beginning her midwifery journey in 2004, Hope has supported hundreds of women through their pregnancies and births. Hope feels birth is one of the most empowering experiences for a woman and family.

Hope has been with Fruitful Midwifery Service since August 2005. It was immediately apparent that Hope would be an asset to the team.

Meet The Midwife Consultation
We offer an evening to Meet the Midwife at no charge for anyone interested in our services. This is held twice a month. Call the office for an appointment. Private consultations are available for a small fee.
